Captain's Focus

8/9/14: It happened! On the Wednesday trip, the fish bit! Told you! Nice-sized fish and a few limits! Here are the money winners and proud fisherman to brag: First off is Doc Sands of Jenkintown, PA, who won with a nice 4.3-lb fluke (he has been a customer of the CAIII for over 40 years, with his wife Clare), also lightning strikes with Bob Nolan of Ship Bottom, NJ, who wins with a nice 4-lber, and the good Teddy Alves of the north, Mt. Holly, NJ, takes it all with a nice 3.8-lb flattie. Also one special afternoon we had Tom Miller of Medford, NJ win with a nice 4-lber and Ren Nocity of Barnegat Light, NJ with a 6-lber. Ronald Zielinslci Sr. of North Beach Haven, NJ won with a 5.3-lber and Pete Startz of Hoboken, NJ won with a 2.8-lb fluke. The last pool winner was Cheryl Dugan of Burlington, NJ, who was blessed with a 5.2-lb fluke. It was a special catch because the rod she was using was left to her by a wonderful friend, Bob Keller, who passed last winter. Thank you Bobby, we know you were smiling! Here it comes! The August blitz! Early in the season all we hear is how the northern boats are getting the fish, now it's our turn! The water is perfect, almost tropical in color, and seeing a lot of bonita, turtles, sharks and rays and mahi's. The fish are there, this week proved it! Last week was poor but they were there the whole time. It's feeding time, and that means harvest time for us! Don't forget: the CAIII will be chartered on Thursday afternoon, August 14 only. And on August 29, we go back to the one six-hour trip, every day. The weather can't get any better, come on out and enjoy it! SEA YOU THERE! Gina
