Captain's Focus

6/8/14: We are back on schedule finally! The boat got out every day except Thursday, and again we cannot complain about the fishing! Still no limits but baby, size matters! I reported last week with pool winners up to 4 lbs plus, well, here we go again, starting with Tony Cal of Barnegat Light, NJ with a 3.4-lb sea bass (can't whine about that fish), Bill Brucks of South Amboy, NJ with a 3-lber, Jules "Mayor" Majeski also won with a 4.5-lber, WOW! And Gen Warner of Brant Beach, NJ won with a nice 3-lber. Way to go Gen! And the best catch of the week went to Liam Nolan of Manahawkin, NJ, who is 11 years young and beat the best with a 4-lb. ling. Hey, Fathers Day is Sunday, what a great idea! Time spent together fishing is a wonderful gift! The sea bass season we feel has been pretty decent so far, especially with the cold water conditions. Sunday we did see a few sea bass caught on jigs and the temp went from 51 to 54 degrees on the bottom. The warming trend is finally starting to happen. Our first two short fluke of the season were caught and released also on Sunday. It's happening but boy it's taken its good old time! What do you expect after the winter we had. The ocean is such a huge body of water to warm up, especially on the bottom. The sun will heat the top, but getting to the bottom takes time. It's happening. Lets enjoy the rest of the se abass season because that white, flaky, and probably the best fish I personally would prefer is right there for us to catch. Sea you at SEA!Gina
