5/27/14: As I said in the last report, the opening of sea bass was solid. No limits but some anglers had 6 to 10 fish and some had 3 to 4 fish. Well, that's the way it seemed to stay the whole week and weekend. The size of the sea bass was impressive, with most of the pool winners between 3.5 to 4.5 lbs. Here are some of the winners: Mike Shaw of Jersey City, NJ with a 4.1-lb sea bass, Tom Bogusz of Barnegat, NJ won with a 3.5 lber, Jimmy Walton of Medford, NJ won with a 3.8 lber, and Fred Verdi of Lawrence Twp., NJ won with a 4-lb sea bass. Mike Coffee of Cherry Hill, NJ won with a 4.3 lber, Greg Majeski of New Egypt, NJ won with a 3.8 lber, and Rich Greenbeger of West Berlin, NJ won with a 4-lb sea bass. The bite was very soft on the offshore wrecks as the temp was only 49.5 to 50 degrees on the bottom. Some of the inshore wrecks had fish on them and the bite was a little stronger. Quite a few ling showed up and some short cod and pollock. The blackfish are still thick on the inshore wrecks, as John Snyder caught the biggest one of his fishing career, 12 lb+, as he released her as fast as we possibly could.I just want to thank everyone for coming out with us this Memorial weekend. Also, we remember the many veterans who gave their lives to protect our freedom, so the simple things in life like fishing are a freedom and a heritage we all must protect. It was so nice to see families and friends going fishing together on a beautiful weekend. Let's keep it going, if you had a good time, hey, let's do that again! Hope to see you there! Sea you at sea,Gina
