Captain's Focus

Another nasty day, only today we had South wind against the outgoing tide! Didn't blow as hard as yesterday but it sure was cranky as hell.

Caught a few fish once again close, the gannets were working hard, fish moving fast. Didn't last long there as we headed down the beach.

Ran South and had a couple nice drifts right away, mostly shorts and an odd bluefish with a couple keepers mixed in.

Ocean naturally got worse as the day went on and current ran harder. Stopped several times in the birds working and fish busting all around the boat, only to pick at a couple keepers and some shorts. Very frustrating to say the least as we couldn't get the bite going.

Fish didn't leave as we saw them but didn't catch them like we wanted. Ralph fiinished out his day with a beautifull 11 pound cod. Pool fish went to  Jack at 14 pounds.

Not sailing Wednesday with gail winds. Thursday till Saturday looks much better as Saturday will be our final trip for 2011.

Thanks,

Capt.Ron
