We made both morning and afternoon trips on Monday September 8 from the Atlantic Highlands marina. The weather was not nice with easterly winds. We were able to catch a few fish but not the fishing we had on Sunday. Tuesday the northeast winds were strong and no boats sailed. Today the winds were a lot calmer and we were able to make both morning and afternoon trips. We did not expect much due to the wind the day before. When we got out to the fishing grounds we were pleasantly surprised to see how calm the water was. On the morning trips we had a few keepers and a slow pick on shorts. On the afternoon trip we had a few more keepers but there was more action on the shorts. Hopefully as the water settles down the fishing will improve. We are sailing everyday making two trips everyday (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). The last day for fluke is September 27. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
