Captain's Focus

I hope all is well with everyone. I just brought the boat back from the shipyard yesterday, We have our annual Coast guard inspection this Thursday and then we are ready to go!! The bad news is the water is still too cold to get those Stripers moving. When I came home with the boat on Friday The water temperature in the bay was only 40 degrees. I had the fish finder on the entire ride from Staten Island to Atlantic Highlands and in years past around this time the water would be around 44 degrees and there would be some good bait marks on the fish finder, but this year I only saw a few little specks of bait. As much as I would like to get started after this long cold and miserable winter I don't just want to go for boat rides and take your money. I want to catch fish! Hopefully we start getting some nicer weather in the next two weeks to get those water temps up a few degrees and get those Stripers active.  As of now I am thinking I will start fishing daily Friday April 4th for Stripers from 7:30 am till 2:30 pm. I will keep you updated and give another post at the end of the March. I am really looking foreword to seeing everyone and I am really hoping for another great spring like last year.
                                  See you soon, Capt. Rob
