5-17-14 The rain clceared out late last night and we had a really pretty morning..There was a nice ground swell left over but the ocean was nicec besides the roll..Eventually even that calmed down..Inshore the bite was slow,,just a few ling and a small tog,,,the swell seemed to have things messed up..Took some riding around to get dialed into where some life was but by afternoon we had some decent fishing for the ling where guys who were using some gulp(white swimiming minnows worked best)and maybe some perch stirps caught some nice ling..High hook ended up with a dozen tasty fish for dinner..Mixed sizes,,,also saw a few whiting in the mix as well....No stirper action again today anywhere,,,As for tomorrow it looks real nice,,,we are gonna head back out to the area we left and get back into some action on the bottom,,if the stripers pop up we can catch some but it seems unlikely,,See ya tomorrow..
