While it was hardly fast, Capt. Ryan Bogan reported some pollock and cod plus even a few mackerel were caught during his last trips with Jamaica II from Brielle. Billy Watson of Lonsdale, Pa. took a pool with a 19-pound pollock, and added another pollock plus two cod and five ling. Paul Jameson from Philadelphia bagged three cod, two pollock and five ling. Jamaica II sails at 5 a.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays -- and at 3 a.m. on Saturdays.
The Hi-Mar Flea Market & Seminars is set for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Middletown VFW on Rt. 36 in Port Monmouth. Striper pro Chuck Many will be doing one of the seminars, and I'll be there with some tackle that my wife insists on getting out of the garage.
