The Hi-Mar Fishing Flea Market and Seminars drew a large Saturday crowd to the VFW in Port Monmouth. The seminars were presented by some of the finest anglers in the area, and were a real bargain as part of the $5 admission to the event. Chuck Many made his first such presentation, but one angler told me that it was the best striper seminar he'd ever attended as Many went through a typical day on his Ty Man from from Gateway Marina in Highlands in great detail -- starting with the all-important gathering of fresh bait, no matter how long that may take. Many is strictly a private angler who fishes only for stripers and releases every one. Sunday's forecast starts with a possible record low of 1 degree, and includes NE winds of 15 to 25 mph.
