Capt Kobey ran the boat on today s trip along with our normal mates Vinny and Ray. I have posted in the past that often the best day troll bite of the whole season happens in June and it certainly was true on today s trip.

We will be available for both regular charters and make-up trips for small parties-singles between May 25th and June 1 (or longer if the fish are still in the bay) for either drum or stripers depending on which species is available. We will be running make-up early season tuna trips as well as regular charters or contact us if interested in joining us offshore.

Found some quality stripers the last few trips on the Hooked Up II trolling the inshore lumps It has been tough fishing the last few days compared to last week when we were catching up to 16 or more stripers per trip with many of them nice size keepers. At the present time this is the way it has been for us the last 3 trips and we would have liked a few more keepers but we were glad we caught what we did considering how the striper fishing has slowed down from a week or so.

Capt Lucky himself ( Ed V from Havertown, PA) who owns the cruise boat booked the trip for his employees. We will be offering make-up canyon trips for small parties and singles starting as soon as we get a weather window so contact us if you are interested in loading up on tuna before the season comes to a close.

This makes 6 straight trips where we have boated at least one Big Eye, fishing 3 different canyons and on some of the trips we had great night chunking with 20 or more smaller Yellowfins when we did overnight trips. I anticipate some great night chunking on Yellowfins to start up in our local canyons any day now to go along with great Big Eye bite the last few weeks.

Except for today s trip and one other day trip in early August almost all our tuna have been caught on 24 or 30 hour overnight trips down to the Washington Canyon. On yesterday s trip we heard of a few tuna and mahi caught throughout the day as it was not red by any means but for us anyways it turned out to be a great trip especially for a day troll trip.

Well the trip ended half way through the night as we had so many different species of sharks eating all our chunks and tuna baits within seconds of putting them out. Bottom line it was another fine trip and as I mention in my previous posts doing a 24 hour overnight trip down to the Washington Canyon is providing some of the finest Big Eye fishing in years and well worth the extra time and expense it takes to make the 90 plus mile run.

Since the canyon where we fished today is a long boat ride from Cape May, I feel an overnight trip would be the way to go for those who want to have a legitimate chance at multiple Big Eyes. We were the only charter boat from Cape May that made the longer run yesterday as we felt the extra distance would give us a better chance of catching Big Eyes but larger size Yellowfins.

On today s (Saturday July 27) open boat trip everything came together about as good as I could have hoped for. It worked out pretty well for us on today s trip and from the reports I got all day we were definitely one of the more successful boats fishing inshore of the canyons.

We picked up a 400 lb Blue Marlin, released a small Mako plus some Mahi-Mahi on yesterday s canyon day troll trip fishing a few miles north of where the great late afternoon and night tuna bite is currently happening. It is a great time to do a 24 or 30 hour overnight trips to take advantage of tuna fishing when there is minimal boat traffic and when the tuna bite is the best.
