Updated 11 10 14Well for the last three days all we did was look at them, today they came up on top and you could literally see hundreds of them, they didnt bite like we saw them but we did end up with a very nice catch of Stripers, All the fish were from 20 to 30 pounds, nothing smaller, the pool fish was 37 lbs. I will post pictures a little later today.
Updated 10 31 14Tuesdays trip we had 80 Mahi, 3 Longfin, 1 Yellowfin, and a 250 lb Swordfish. Thursdays trip we had 127 Mahi, and a mix of 34 Yellowfin and Longfin.
Updated 10 22 14We just got in from our Tuesdays trip, we had a very good trip, 240 Mahi, 42 Longfin, an 80 lb Swordfish and also lost a 400 pound Sword. We still have some spots left on our October 30th trip, all other trips are full.
Updated 10 12 14We missed some trips last week because of bad weather, we did get out this Thursday and on Saturdays trip. 37 Longfin and two Yellowfin.
The Mahi fishing was just amazing, we had all limits and so many fish came in on our last stop that we had to put crew tags on them. The size of the fish were on average 6 to 10 pounds but we had a good amount of 12 to 18 pounders.
Updated 09 28 14We had a shot of tuna at sunset and then again about an hour before sunrise, during the night we caught a few tuna and had a couple short Swordfish, we made a short drift after sunrise and caught two Longfin and some Tile fish. The catch was 176 Mahi (3 to 12 lbs), 18 Yellowfin (60 to 70 lbs), 11 Longfin (35 to 50 lbs), 2 Bigeye tuna (150 and 170 lbs), and 8 or 10 Tile fish.
Seems to me people are bringing tackle thats ok for 35 to 50 lb fish but we loose to many 70 pound or greater fish. There is no perfect size outfit to use out there but you should be able to handle 60 to 90 lb fish.
