9 21 16 Here it is, the last four days of the fluke season. After the Sept 25 closer of fluke, the CAIII will not be sailing until OCTOBER 22, WHICH IS A SUNDAY, and yes we will be sailing that whole week for sea bass!
The first day we found a few nice fish so we went back the following day and the fluke started biting!Let's get out a few more times before the season closes and try to get back what mother nature took from us last week.
The driftless days we would stay around structure, and we seem to pull a lot of nice fish from that area. The fishing has slowed up a bit, Saturday afternoon was the last real good day.
The boat is sailing every day, the two 4-hour trips, except for on July 13th, the afternoon trip ONLY, we will be privately chartered. We have some hot days coming our way and if there is a breeze it's usually a lot cooler on the ocean, mostly the afternoon trip.
This past weekend it was bait that caught the pool winners. Just to name some of the pool winners, it's dragging bait or jigging, it doesn't matter what YOU prefer, it's all about what catches!
6 20 16 The sea bass season ended pretty well, no limits but most hungry fishermen got a good meal. Now that the sea bass season has closed, we are officially targeting fluke.
6 13 16 It's been two weeks since I reported a fishing report. The first week great, the second week good, the third week picky, and with a few days off due to weather, it seems the wrecks are rejuvenating with new fish.
A few pool winners were Len Smith of Florence, NJ with a nice 4-lb sea bass Bob Nolan (cotton Bob) also took the money with a 3. Joe Schwing won with a 3-lb sea bass, Arty Hoyt of Manahawkin, NJ won with a nice 4-lber, Jim Cryan of Florence, NJ won with a nice 4.
