There was a lot of boat traffic but we were still able to put a catch together with stripers and some blues. The fish were paved tight along the bottom and we were able to stay on drifts for 30 minutes at a time where we picked away at stripers and blues with an occasional shot of 5-6 stripers on at a time.
Today, Captain Lenny reported we started out picking at some stripers early in the morning with an occasional blue. We would like to wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to AJ McGowan from Oceanport, NJ who not only had his limits today, but was also our pool winner with a 21 lb 4 oz striper!
We had a two and a half hour drift in the morning where we were able to pick away at the stripers that were 29 - 34 and the blues ranged from 4-12 lbs. The last half of the day was slow with blues and an occasional striper.
November 6th, 2011 We had the BEST striper fishing of the season so far yesterday with over 200 keepers, no, that is NOT a misprint, and over 50 throw back keepers. For the last 5 days we have had the hottest striper fishing we have seen in a long time and this is just the beginning of the season!
