07 07 16 It was another good day on the fluke grounds with lots of action and keepers to go around. Knowing it would be a couple of hours before things would heat back up we tried a different area with more current and finished up the day with similar fishing.
Catches ranged up to limits with Nick La Sala, Bloomingdale, NJ, keeping his limit from 9 legal fish up to 7 pounds 3 ounces!Art Garrett, Red Bank, NJ, took the pool on his birthday with a 7 pound 7 ounce fish!
Dave Brink, Port Monmouth, NJ, had several keepers up to his 8 pound 9 ounce fish. Tommy Hollywood, Jr., Staten Island, NY, stole the show today, however, when he boated a 10 POUND 8 OUNCE DOORMAT which is the second of his fluking career and our SIXTH DOORMAT of the young fluke season ALREADY!!
Picked through the shorts to put a bunch of nice fish in the coolers for the guys and gals. John Vanderstad, Pompton Lakes, NJ, had four keepers which included the 5 pound 2 ounce pool fish.
07 02 16 A lot more wind than predicted to go with the outgoing tide all day made for tough, but not impossible, drifting conditions with 8-10 ounce sinkers being required all day. A new batch of fish has either moved into the bay or at least into the channel we are fishing with guys having to work through more short action the past couple of days than we have been seeing recently.
Lots of action for everyone with mixed size fish and quality keepers mixed in around the boat. High hooks once again had four keepers each with Ken McGill, Atlantic Highlands, NJ, taking the pool with a 6 pound 3 ounce fish.
