Tony THE FLUKEMAN Satus, Old Bridge, NJ, made his first fluke trip of the year and ended up with an early limit which was also our first of the young season!!!WE ARE NOW SAILING AT 7 30 AM DAILY FOR THE REST OF THE FLUKE SEASON!!
Dave Brink, Middletown, NJ, had a good opening day and ended up with four nice keepers. Jim Florio, Newark, NJ, had a couple of keepers and took the pool with a 4 pound fish.
A few striped bass were caught each day with jumbo bluefish dominating the catches for our guys who had a ton of fun and all of the great action they could handle. Hopefully the great action continues until the opening of the fluke season!!
04 30 16 Yesterday's easterly blow and a VERY LARGE left over swell put a big hit on the tog bite today. Art Garrett, Red Bank, NJ, had the big fish and took the last pool of the spring blackfish season.
04 29 16 Tomorrow will be the last day to keep blackfish this spring before the season closes!!Sunday we resume sailing at 7 00 AM daily for striped bass until the opening day of the fluke season on Saturday, May 21!
A couple of the spots we fished had decent life on them with a couple of others having no bites at all. A few fish were caught on the green crabs but with the clams producing most of the fish.
04 26 16 The forecast for rain kept most people home and all of the area boats at the dock which is a shame since it turned out to be a gorgeous day along the shore. Only a few days left before the spring blackfish season closes!!
We had the same strong current most of the day like yesterday. More short action than keepers with the blackfish with most of the action once again coming on the clams.
