06 30 15 Nice start to the day with a good drift and okay action with a mix of shorts and keepers. Did not stay nice for long as the southerly wind picked up quickly and blew hard for the rest of the day slowing down the bite everywhere.
06 29 15 Wind and tide most of the day gave us quick, but nice, drifting conditions. Went back into the bay and found pretty good short action everywhere we stopped for the rest of the day but not enough keepers to go around for a nice group of Monday fishermen.
We started the day in our bay with the fleet and had decent short action but only a couple of keepers. The guys had some keepers on each drift and ended up with a good catch for the day.
Brigido Borahono, South Plainfield, NJ, came fluking for the first time and took the pool with a 6 pound 14 ounce fish. Jim Lohse, Union, NJ, had three keepers up to 5 pounds 5 ounces.
Tom Formisano, Bellmawr, NJ, had three keepers including the 8 pound 3 ounce pool fish. Ron Marcantonio, Branchville, NJ, was happy with the nice 7 pound 7 ounce fish he caught.
We fished several areas today working the tide to give us the best drift possible. Greg Barnett, Trenton, NJ, led the way with four keepers while Jim Fells, Midland Park, NJ, took the pool.
Like yesterday, the current moved us against the breeze well enough for the guys and gals to catch fish much of the day with a good mix of keepers and shorts. Dennis Bowman, Jr., Saddle Brook, NJ, had a couple of keepers including the 5 pound 9 ounce pool fish.
Wayne Pinder, Green Brook, NJ, had an early limit of mostly big fish which included 5 pound 9 ounce, 6 pound 7 ounce and 7 pound 10 ounce keepers!!Dennis O'Brien, South Bound Brook, NJ, had four keepers.
John Vanderstad, Pompton Lakes, NJ, ended up with three keepers including a nice 5 pound 9 ounce fish at the final whistle. Ann Lavelle, Jersey City, NJ, went home with three keepers also including a 5 pound 11 ounce fish.
10-15 pound bluefish on light fluke tackle gets ugly real fast!!Kim Lee, Queens, NY, took the pool with a fish just shy of 5 pounds on the last drift of the day.
