10 13 14 Fishing this weekend consisted of a mix of nice porgies, lots of seabass that had to be thrown back and some short and keeper blackfish up to 5 pounds. We tried a different area today and were pleased to see a lot more keeper blackfish with everyone keeping their one legal tog to go along with their porgies.
The days we have been able to sail have found a mix of porgies and some keeper blackfish for the guys trying green crabs. We will spend time looking for blackfish!
We fished a couple of different areas on the day and the guys were able to put together a catch of nice sized porgies although the guys had to pick through, and release, lots of keepers seabass in order to do it. Kevin Harding, Pearl River, NY, took the pool with a nice porgy.
2014 will go down in the record books as one of the best seasons for big fish in memory! We have not seen as many BIG FLUKE caught in one season in the Raritan Bay area in our 40 years in business!!

We were able to get out to where we had some very nice fish yesterday first thing this morning for the change of tide. We had some short action but only a few more keepers to finish the day.
John Gadomski, Staten Island, NY, had several keepers including a 5 pound 4 ounce fish. Dave Brink, Middletown, NJ, had a 5 pound 10 ounce fish for his largest of the day.
