We fished with the rest of the fleet all day and had a couple of fish each drift but certainly not enough to make us happy. There will be a gusty easterly wind tomorrow AGAINST the outgoing tide giving us a snotty ocean with no drift most of the day and we will not waste your time or ours hiding in our bay just to get the day in.
We had our best fishing this morning on the outgoing tide and the change but we also picked at keepers the rest of the day on the incoming as well. Jack Decker, Blairstown, NJ, worked hard all day, as usual, and wound up with his limit up to four pounds.
Jermaine Lloyd, Bound Brook, NJ, ended up with a 6 pound 4 ounce fish as part of his catch. Only 12 days left before the 2014 fluke season comes to a close so take advantage of it!!!
09 13 14 What was SUPPOSED to be a workable15-20 kts from the east was a constant east at 30 kts with gusts all day long making the area we have been working the past couple of days totally unfishable!!!Weather sounds better for tomorrow so hopefully we can get back to where we were fishing the past couple of days.
09 12 14 The strong northerly wind this morning kept us from the deeper water for the first part of the day and as a result we had tough fishing early on with mostly shorts. Once the wind died and the current changed we were able to spend the rest of the day where we wanted and had pretty decent fishing with a mix of shorts and quality keepers until it was time to come home.
Not great fishing for sure but enough action to show us that the fish are still around when the conditions improve. The keepers were all nice quality fish.
09 10 14 The wind kept us at the dock the past few days. The wind died early today and the swell was diminishing as the day went along so WE WILL RESUME SAILING EVERY DAY STARTING TOMORROW (THURSDAY)!!!
