Went back to where we know the fish have been and got in a couple of good hours with a mix of keepers and shorts and just about everyone getting in on the action. Brad Weaver, Bound Brook, NJ, wound up with three keepers including the very nice 8 pound 5 ounce pool fish!!
Got right up to the area that we have been fishing and managed to get in several drifts with good keeper and short action before the current changed and we lost our movement for yet another day. Dave Brink, Middletown, NJ, had a 5 pound 9 ounce fish.
Had a lack of drift with wind against the tide for a good part of the day in a carbon copy of yesterday. Pretty decent short action with a few keepers mixed in on each drift for the last part of the day in tough conditions.
The guys managed a handful keepers and some shorts working spros gulps until the current and wind finally got together and gave us the drift we wanted. Even with a drift the guys had mainly shorts with just a handful of keepers mixed in until it was time to come home.
Good weather has already returned as I post this and looks to continue for a good string of days. Fluking was very good yesterday and we are looking forward to getting back out to the grounds tomorrow (Thursday)!!
08 12 14 We had a couple of hours of good drift early this morning and made it count!!We ended up with several limits for the day and others, like Trenton Al and THE FLUKEMAN etc., each having four nice fish.
Started off with a very nice mix of keepers and shorts for the first couple of hours before the current switched and we lost the drift. The guys working the spros gulps hard continued to pick at some nice fish until the bite finally died after noon.
08 10 14 LOTS OF NICE FISH TODAY!!Dennis O' Brien, South Bound Brook, NJ, had an early limit up to 7 pounds 1 ounce and tied for the pool with Jenni Jo, Somerset, NJ, who also had an identical 7 pound 1 ounce fish as part of her limit.
We started the day in the ocean where we picked away at a mix of keepers and shorts until the current got way too fast and we had to leave the area. A number of the guys had three keepers each with Glenn Ackerman, Easton, PA., taking the pool with a fish around five pounds.
Mark Fichera, Toms River, NJ, had a 6 pound 13 ounce fish as his largest fish of the day. Sal Infante, Freehold, NJ, had a few keepers including a 7 pound 10 ounce fish and Frank Prelich, Lodi, NJ, took the pool with a 9 POUND 11 OUNCE BEAUTY which just missed being our fifth doormat of the season!!
