The day started off slow first thing this morning until we made a move and got into steady fishing for the rest of the day. It was a real finicky bite with a bunch of missed fish but the guys were able to adjust and we ended up with a nice catch of all quality fish to end the day.
The blow from the last couple of days put the fish on the feed today, like I predicted on Monday, with action on both tides and most of the keepers being between 15 and 20 lbs. We had guys that kept their bonus limits and everyone went home with meat for dinner. The weekend weather looks very nice for both days so come out and enjoy it while putting some fish in the coolers Mike Naipawer, Bloomingdale, NJ, took the pool with a 21 pound fish.
Great weather, good conditions, lots of ground covered but only a handful of fish to show for the guys efforts. Greg Barnett, Trenton, NJ, took the pool with an 18 pound fish.
Tommy Hollywood, Jr, Staten Island, NY took the pool with one of his togs. The weather looks great again for tomorrow so get a last shot in for the tog before the season closes.
After the last couple windy days the boys were treated to a great day on the water both fishing and weatherwise. We had lots of action this morning with an equal mix of shorts and keepers which lasted until around noon.
Gale winds the past two days kept all of the boats at the dock. There will be light winds on tap for tomorrow and we already know of guys coming down so join them and lets have a great day on the bay
A bunch of our die hard blackfishermen have been asking if we are going to do any togging before the season closes next week so we are going to do a couple of special trips this weekend. WE WILL BE SAILING FOR BLACKFISH AT 7AM THIS COMING SATURDAY APRIL 26 AND SUNDAY APRIL 27 We will have clams and green crabs onboard.
The gale winds that we had this week were just what the doctor ordered and finally turned the striped bass bite on the last two days We saw plenty of action with some limits and a bunch of nice fish up to 15 pounds to go around. We will NOT be sailing Easter Sunday but will resume our regular schedule on Monday. .
