The guys found good action with good numbers of keepers around the boat for several hours before the gusty wind and current together made the area unfishable even with the heavy tackle. Headed back inshore to some shallower water and found less action overall to finish the day but what we caught was mostly keepers.
Beautiful weather and drifting conditions today in the same area gave the guys and gals GOOD fishing with lots of short action and nice keepers to go around. Bucktails, spros, gulps, natural baits etc., all produced their share of keepers today.
08 22 16 MUCH better conditions than yesterday made for better fishing and more keepers today! The guys and gals worked hard all day and ended up with nice keepers in the coolers by quitting time.
John Vanderstad, Pompton Lakes, NJ, took the pool with a fish around 5 pounds. Heather Siegmund, Allentown, Pa., kept up with the guys and was very happy with her four NICE fish!
08 18 16 Started on the grounds we have been fishing recently and had no current for quite a while and had to leave the area to find a drift. Bounced around a couple of other deepers areas and had good short action with some keepers in the mix for the remainder of the day.
With the strong westerly wind and the full moon outgoing tide all day fishing where we have been lately was not an option. Moved back inshore and found OKAY fishing with a mix of keepers and shorts on every drift.
Tom Hollywood, Jr., Staten Island, NY, outfished his dad today with more keepers but it was Tom Sr., who tied for the pool with his good friend Mike. An overall GOOD day of catching and keepers while the bite lasted!
We were able to fish the area all day since everyone listened to our previous posts and came with rods that could handle a bit of lead. Banged away at keepers and shorts right off the bat this morning which continued until we finally lost the current and drift after noon.
Started where we have been fishing and had loads of action and a bunch of keepers on a long drift before the current got way too strong and we had to leave the area. Spent the rest of the day in a couple of nearby areas with less current and managed to continue to pick away at both keepers and shorts until it was time to come home but our best fishing was definitely this morning.
The current never really ran fast and the guys were able to stick with 8 ounce sinkers all day. LOADS of constant action all day long with a good spread of keepers and catches ranging up to limits for the guys.
