We bypassed the Bay Fluke kick-off yesterday for the sake of some Seabass action on the wrecks. I was also quite surprised on the number of Fluke we did catch yesterday in the Ocean around the wrecks.
In Yesterday's update I mentioned fishing would be shut down by the storm. Just in the last week has the biomass of big Bass made it close enough to Barnegat Inlet to let us in on the fishing.
The current rain and wind moving through has pretty much brought all fishing to a hault. When the storm clears I expect the Bass will be more than willing to eat.
Had one of our Forum Members Shark Bait out for a LONG day of fishing yeterday. Some Very big fish were being caught but it was dang near impossible to set on the troll with so many boats.
The Ocean water temps have recovered just a bit over the last couple of days but is still quite cold (49 yesterday). The Bluefish seem to have liked the slight uptick in warmth as they were ravenous yesterday.
Started off the day yesterday intent on finding some large Bass. Trolling between the "Bathing Beach" and "Ferris Wheel" produced abolutely nothing. Did mark tons of bait deep, probably not bunker. You know things are tough when you get an 0 for 5 (captains talking on channel 68 getting skunked).Decided to try jigging around some wrecks. Was a bit surprised when we hit some Cod, including this fiesty fella.
