    Capt. Mark fishing a private boat tutorial trip out of Barnegat Sunday nailed two very decent big-eyes and pulled the hook on a third in only a few hours of trolling on a day trip. Capt. Dean is still out right now with a 97 mako in the boat that we are hoping pushes 375 - he also had well over a dozen yellowfin and a couple nice bluefin.

    What has been our best canyon season to date got a lot better last week when Capt. Mark DeBlasio and Capt. Dean Lambros put Jackson Hsieh into a 243 pound big-eye in the Washington Canyon on Thursday and ended up holding on to B WIN the Mid-Atlantic 500,000 B with the biggest tuna. And in addition to the 3 big-eyes caught during the MA500 our boats were busy the week prior and this weekend adding more big-eyes to the books B we now have a total of 71 big-eyes caught this year !!!

    Thursday Friday saw both boats combine for 7 big-eyes and Friday-Saturday saw them add 5 more. The 60 was the hot boat though with Capt. Craig Angelini at the helm boating 6 for 7 on eyeballs with the Phil Vehec and Rich Suth charter.

    Mark DeBlasio, Dean Lambros, Greg Ryback and Craig Angelini got in one more overnighter Wednesday to Thursday on the Canyon Runner boats before sitting for some weather and to get geared up for the WMO. Trolling 6 Canyon Runner Spreader Bars and 2 dredges on each boat plus Runner Lures, Joe Shutes with Ballyhoo and Melton Jets plus mixing in a few random stuff but when 6 come up and eat they eat whatever they want.

    Recent Reports July 26-27 saw the 60 Ritchie with Capt. Mark DeBlasio and Capt. Craig Angelini fishing the Washington Canyon with the Steve Mahedy charter and they nailed their big-eye and 30 yellowfin right there on the east wall where everyone has been for weeks now. July 29-30 saw both boats look to the North and up the line a few canyons and they caught their big-eyes again with the 60 Ritchie catching 2 from 175-200 pounds and 10 yellowfin and the 48 Viking catching 1 and a dozen yellowfin.

    In the last four trips - yesterday to today and Thursday to Friday of last week the Canyon Runner boats caught 7 more big-eye and 75 yellowfin. Today the boats are coming back with 5 big-eyes total and 50 yellowfin with Capt. Mark on the 60 Ritchie with the James Fiore charter nailing 3 big-eyes and an open boat charter on the 48 Canyon Runner nailing 2 big-eyes.

    July 15-16 60 Ritchie Our second winner of the Hope for Children Hurricane Sandy Relief raffle that we gave away at our Canyon Runner Seminar this winter came out with us Monday and Mike Buellow had a trip of a lifetime 35 yellowfin and a nice big-eye around 200 pounds. Way to adapt!July 16-17 60 Ritchie 1 Big-Eye 35 Yellowfin Frank Ruddy and Mark Novembre were back again long time charters can Capt. Mark and Capt. Craig put them into 35 yellowfin and another big-eye again I believe around 200 pounds 48 Viking 2 Big-Eye 20 Yellowfin Sword Capt. Dean Lambros and Capt. Greg Ryback get credit this day for nailing the biggest big-eye we ve ever caught on the Canyon Runner.

    Trolling through the day produced several yellowfin with a limit in the boat of 30-35 pound fish and a few released and mahi but also produced a couple big-eye bites early in they day that pulled hooks. By the way - our charters are almost filled up until after Labor Day now but we do have a couple spots the last week of July for open boat trips on the 48 Viking and tons of dates in September so grab them up now while you still have a choice.

    Dean Lambros and Craig Angelini were running the 60 Ritchie on Saturday to Sunday with the Anthony Heath charter and found the first blue marlin we ve heard of this year in our area. Fishing between the Hudson and the Dip out in the deep after nailing a longfin and a yellowfin and a mako at night Capt. Dean found some great water on the chloryphll charters and worked that area only for a short time when the big blue showed up.

    Trolling way off the bank he found the cleanest water we ve seen in a while with flyers and blue water and within an 1 hour had 2 big-eyes on the deck and 5 longfin. Canyon Runner Big-Eye and Yellowfin Runners and Jets accounted for many of the longfin as well as mini-Green Machine bars.
