The previous days saw action almost just as good and to spice it up a couple big-eyes were in the mix to 200 pounds. Here are a few pics - we have a few more open days and single spots including this coming Sunday or Monday so email me if interested - email adam canyonrunner.
Here's one the fish today - this is Greg Meyer's on the Fishing Frenzy with the Buddy Hughes charter. The 57 A-Salt fought 6 fish today boated one released one.
Folks - received a lot of emails about the weather this Friday and Saturday and how it will impact the Seminar. Short answer is it coudl snow 3 feet but we won't cancel the Seminar so plan ahead.
Capt. Phil on the 60 Ritchie with the Joe Miedrich charter on a 2 night trip nailed their own big-eye Sunday morning making 20 for the crew for the year then went marlin hunting and bagged a nice 250 pound blue. The night bite Sunday night saw the 60 Ritchie fishing only 1 tuna rod and 3 swords rods and releasing 8 more yellowfin for a total of 30 for the trip before the sword rod went down and a nice 150 pound sword hit the deck at midnight and they decide to head home with 30 yellowfin, the sword, the big-eye and the blue marlin!!!
We fished most of last week and while some trips had 6-8 yellowfin many only had 1-3. I might have lost count but I think we are up to 14 or 15 big-eyes so far this year with all but one caught on the 48 Canyon Runner by Capt. Mark and Dean.
Capt. Phil finished up with 14 for 25 or so all on the troll and Capt Mark was 11 for about 25 with a couple on the chunk and released a white. The action was in 600 feet of water and ballyhoo were the ticket on this trip with Canyon Runner squid spreader bars a close second.
Capt. Mark and Capt Dean had an open boat trip on the 48 Canyon Runner and ran close to home finally fishing within 85 miles of the inlet for the first time in 25 overnighter thank you!!!!!First though, on the way out we stopped for some bluefin and got a few bites in an hour bringing 2 to the boat.
Canyon Runner 48 7 5-6 1 More Big-Eye for the week 9 YellowfinFishing with the Bill Nye charter saw a streak of big-eyes on three trips in a row for Capt. Mark DeBlasio and Capt. Dean Lambros. Phil Dulanie had the 60 Ritchie Howell out on Thursday with the John Schoen charter and scratched and clawed his way to a pick of yellowfin on the troll and a pick at night on the chunk.
They ve been picking and there the last few nights but last night we brought a ton of butters and sardines and got them on the meat. As soon as we dropped the first bait in the water we had fish in the slick I was on the SAT phone with Mark just as he was setting up and heard the rod go off.
