We took a home run swing, running to a few spots that we haven't fished recently. We picked a few fish here, and with a building northeast wind decided to get closer to home for our final drop.
We fished several spots today and while it wasn't hot and heavy anywhere, we had a slow but steady pick everywhere we went. We ended the trip with 23 keepers, including several beauties with the top three going 8lbs., 11.
Our next scheduled trip is Friday, as we won't be sailing Wednesday or Thursday as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. Please check back over the weekend and we'll be sure to report on our first trip out!
Dave is a well seasoned togger, has put a lot of time into searching for a fish of this size, and was rewarded handsomely today with the tog of a lifetime!Tom, who was on the other side of the boat, ripped a 7 pound fish immediately after Dave's giant and followed it with an 8 pound fish and it was pretty funny how he had such a ho hum reaction to catching a 7 and 8 pounder back to back.
