Both days saw a couple of tog make the box, and both days(Monday in particular) saw enough cod for the box to give the guys a nice bag of fish to take home. Let's hope the weather forecast improves so we can get out there sooner than later!March 24 and 25, 2015Thanks to a decent weather window, we were able to fish the last couple days for cod and whatever else decided to bite.
Let's hope the weather forecast improves so we can get out there sooner than later!March 24 and 25, 2015Thanks to a decent weather window, we were able to fish the last couple days for cod and whatever else decided to bite. It was great fishing with everyone and what we lacked in fish we made up for in having some good laughs and bending a few rods during this pre tog season!Don't forget. tog opens on April 1st so make your reservations! Thanks again!
We will be watching the weather forecasts and attempting to fish any weather windows that open for cod, and then on April 1 we will begin targeting tog. The other options that allow for more fishing time reduce the bag limit to 10 fish which is a no win situation because once you give them up, you don't get them back.
We were allotted a paltry 2. 3 million pound quota last year, and whoever concocts the numbers as to what we caught somehow construed that the New England states(with bag limits ranging from only 3 fish per man to 8 fish per man) caught 1. 9 million pounds. while the rest of the mid Atlantic caught 1. 4 million pounds! The other options that allow for more fishing time reduce the bag limit to 10 fish which is a no win situation because once you give them up, you don't get them back.
A 33 reduction which is going to result in a shorter season, smaller bag limit, larger size limit, or a combination thereof. The other options that allow for more fishing time reduce the bag limit to 10 fish which is a no win situation because once you give them up, you don't get them back.
Both myself and Captain Tom of Fishin' Fever Sport Fishing are really looking forward to a great event tomorrow at Island Marine Center as we kick off our 2015 South Jersey Fishing Seminar circuit. It's going to be a great way to spend a cold, dreary Saturday in February!
We fished a few drops today and while a couple were slow, we had a really good bite on a third and the guys boxed their limit of fish to 7 pounds with the Barn's own Ancient Mariner Skip M. high hook with 7 or 8 keepers and the rest of the guys getting in on the action, as well. Fishing was slow early, but moving around a bit really helped as we found some nice pockets of fish at times and finished with a limit of sea bass to 5 pounds hitting the box and the average size to the fish being quite nice.
