Flounder fishing remains steady, we have started to see a little variety in the catch, offshore fishing continues to be red hot, we have been seeing some strange fish and Mammals close to home, and there is finally a few Croakers starting to show up in the Delaware Bay. Other than a few days with a big swell running from some of the offshore squalls the ocean has been pretty flat, almost too flat at times for a good drift but we have had some very pleasant days on the water with the cool ocean breeze.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report June 29, 2011 The summer heat continues and along with this heat the fishing has also remained pretty hot with good Flounder action at times on my all day trips, more of that red hot Tuna action for the private and the charter boat fleet fishing offshore, and another successful long range bottom fishing trip catching Sea Bass and Tilefish this past weekend for Capt. H. D. With my all day trips this past week we have enjoyed more good Flounder fishing in somewhat of a private charter like atmosphere, with the exception of Saturdays trip we have been running with more like a bare minimum crowd giving everyone lots of room at the rail and lots of comfort, and we have even seen some biting fish from time to time!I have pretty much been exclusively fishing over the rocky ledges and the coral bottoms of the old grounds and while it is sometimes tough to prove depending on our fishing conditions on any given day, there appears to be a good abundance of these flat fish around right now.

With the exception of only Saturday's trip, my head boat has felt more like a private charter boat than a party boat and we have been enjoying some very good Flounder action with a very light crowd on every day. Things are most certainly shaping up for a good summer season of fishing, offshore anglers have already enjoyed Tuna fishing action much better than that of the last few years given the date.

Last year by the second week in June we were already drift fishing for both the Bass and the Flounder with some pretty good success and I would bet that this year may be very similar we have already landed our first couple keeper Fluke off of the reef. I will continue targeting the Sea Bass on my all day trips anchoring over wrecks and reefs or whatever it takes to see a few fish.

I have actually been out fishing six of the last seven days which happens to be a record for me so far this year, and our end results were pretty much the same for each and every trip. I'm not sure whether it was a water temperature thing, or tidal conditions or just what it was, but over the past several days we have experienced some of the most aggressive Tog fishing action that I have witnessed for the entire spring season.
