I have been fishing now for eleven days in a row anchoring over shipwrecks, artificial reef structure and some natural rocky and coral bottom fishing for these mighty Sea Bass. In a normal year with the exception of the winter and early spring long range trips, we would start seeing Sea Bass as early as the second and third weeks of April on some of the inshore wrecks and reefs.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report May 26, 2010 For the first time ever we had an opening day for our Sea Bass season this past weekend. While top hooks have each managed low to mid and upper teens with keeper fish every trip so far, Sunday remains the only day that we had a few limits around the rail.

Even though it's been a slow start to the Drum and somewhat disappointing compared to the last few years these fish are definitely biting better now both day and night and the fishery should be strong for several more weeks for those wishing to get in on the action. There are still a few days to catch a daytime Drum but after Friday our only Drum Trips other than a private charter will be at night.

Striper action has been very inconsistent way up in the Bay where the best fishing had been over the past several weeks, however there is more and more reports of decent Linesiders landed along the beachfront, in the inlets and from the Surf. The Flounder fishing given the time of year as far as I'm concerned is great, there has been a lot of small boat effort and a lot of fish already taken from the back Bay's, inlets, and all along the Lewes Rehoboth Canal.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report May 12, 2010 I don't really have a lot to report about this past weeks fishing however we did close out our last few days of Spring Tog this weekend with the good the bad and the windy, we saw a little of everything. Drumfish are just starting to turn on in good numbers, Flounder are around and the Sea Bass will be opened up in just a few more days.

Our days are numbered now on these Tog so if you are interested in getting in on this action before the closure you have until May 11th, after that day we will no longer be able to land Tautog until later in the year It has been a pretty interesting spring so far this year, water temperatures are really heating up and it almost seems like we are a little ahead of schedule compared to some other years. Remember we are now sailing seven days a week with my regular All-Day trips departing the docks at 7 00 a. m. I will continue fishing for the Tog until May 11th.

It's been a good week for fishing here in Lewes, the Flounder are starting to bite in the canal and in the shallow waters of the Rehoboth and Delaware Bays, there have been Stripers and Bluefish landed in the inlets and along the surf, the Tautog have been biting good and there are more and more reports of a few Drumfish taking a bait. While the weather turned into a great day on the water even seeing a brief appearance of the sun, the Tog made it a little frustrating.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report April 20, 2010 I really don't have to much to report for this past week Mother Nature pretty much decided that she wanted to protect her fish for the majority of the days that we were scheduled to fish and on the nicest day we were short on willing participants so we just shucked clams. Water temperatures are certainly on the rise, when I was out on Friday I saw 49 degrees on the surface in the mouth of the Bay and just yesterday the reporting station up in the Bay had surface temps as warm as 52 degrees with the recent warmer weather.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report April 14, 2010 Good weather allowed us to get away from the docks for every scheduled trip over this past weekend fishing all four days in a row starting this past Friday. We will also begin Drum Fishing daily starting Friday April 30th these trips will depart the docks at 6 00 p. m. and should be expected to return roughly at 1 00 a. m. Drum fishing has been phenomenal the past few years in the Delaware Bay and all indicators are for another great season.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report April 06, 2010 April rolled in with a great forecast for the big holiday weekend and along with the forecasted weather we saw a couple of the biggest crowds of the year eager to get in on the good fishing action for the Tog. Even though some skilled or lucky fisherman managed limit catches of Tog and seemed to have plenty of action with undersize fish on both Friday and Saturday the majority of the hopes at the rail these two days were slightly shattered, the fish just didn't bite for everyone and there was way to many just ones and zero's boxed around the rail for my liking.
