We have actually seen more Cod in the last few trips than I have ever seen fishing so close to home this time of year, we landed over a dozen Codfish on Sunday and were able to keep nearly all of them. I look to see this type of Striper fishing continue for several more weeks and may even improve as some of these fish settle around the mouth of the Bay.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report March 23rd, 2010 Along with some of the best weather that you could possibly ask for at this time of the year we started out our 2010 fishing season with calm seas and some decent fish catching action. Even though this option includes a closure from mid October till the end of the year the Flounder are mainly a by catch this time of year and I would give up those few weeks to be able to land a little smaller fish while they are around in the Summer months.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report March 10th, 2010 Happy New Year! After a long winter of relentless coastal storms, way too much snow and countless weeks of seeing waves that were measured in double digit heights more often than not, it's finally time to start thinking about fishing again.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman s Wharf Fishing Report December 10, 2009 It's hard to write a fishing report when you are only getting out a couple trips a week but with the weather and the business being the way it has been here in our region that's about the best we can do. It is possible that we may throw a few special trips for Tog or Stripers out after Christmas depending on how the weather goes.

There is definitely fish around and they are willing to bite but conditions have been more in the fishes favor than the anglers trying to catch them The weekend before Thanksgiving we saw a real struggle with the Tog, we were out Friday Saturday and Sunday and only one of those three days produced any number of fish. As long as we can continue to have a few breaks in the weather we should continue to see some very good fishing opportunities with Stripers, Tog and Bluefish.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman s Wharf Fishing Report November 19, 2009 Last week I should have been able to report another great week of fish catching action however the latest in a series of major Coastal Storms once again whisked away all hopes of catching fish or even getting away from the docks for several more days in a row. Ultimately there was a few of both species landed up in the Bay by days end, but you could really tell things were shook up bad after the storm.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman s Wharf Fishing Report November 11, 2009 For a change of pace we finally had a decent weather weekend in the forecast and were able to get away from the docks with all but one of our scheduled trips as last week came to and end. Each trip a few anglers were able to excel and naturally with Tog fishing there is always a few frustrated fishermen that were just providing an all you can eat crab buffet just to fatten up the fish for others!Water temperatures still have not made a significant drop.

Fortunately both the Tog and the Stripers can be caught within just a few miles of the inlet allowing us to fish on some of those questionable days where you may otherwise stay tied up with the wind. With so few people showing up to go fishing these days It is suggested that you show up for the Striper trips fairly early so we know how many folks are around.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman s Wharf Fishing Report October 27, 2009 After some unrelenting weather and staying tied fast to the dock for way too many days straight we finally were able to put a few days together with a break from Mother Nature last week and get back to some serious fishing. I had already reported on my first couple days back on the water last week and the Tog fishing after those first two trips just seemed to get a little better with each day we were able to get out.

I can't wait to hear what the marine recreational fishing survey says we have landed for this past week cause not even one boat has left the docks for several days straight targeting any type of salt water fish. I strongly suggest that if you are interested in Striper fishing through the week you show up at the docks by seven o'clock That way if there is just a few people around the docks that want to go fishing you can make the regular all day trip.
