By the end of this morning s trip we will not only close out the 2014 Fluke Season, but we will add another name to the list of Flukemaster Classic Champions. The current leader is Bill Reid, who on Monday, September 15th landed an 8lb 12 oz beast, big enough to put his name on top of the monthly leaderboard.
We will shape up on Saturday morning for one final run for the roses! It will be the last day of the season, and the final day to take a shot at winning The Flukemaster Championship!
Ambrose Channel Alert We spend a good amount of time in Ambose Channel during this part of the season, and as many of you know, Ambrose is a completely different animal than the most back bay anglers are used to It is considerably deeper than the Reach Channel. The reason being is, and I see it all the time including many times today, someone will pull up your hook and you will have no idea that your line is actually up because the sinker is still on the bottom.
Did I mention that we need more coffee Two Flukemasters on the boat today Carmine Mangini and newly crown champion Doug Kay. Jimmy Hughes who almost knock Doug Kay off the board yesterday with a 7 pound fish, came back today and landed a 7 lb 3 oz fluke!!!!
FLUKEWATCH 14 August Edition Get ready for the one of the greatest happenings in all of salt water fishing The final day of the 2014 August Flukemaster Classic Championship. On the seventh drift of the day, Doug Kay, or The Duke as he is affectionately known in the fishing world, tipped his hook with a 6 New Penny Gulp Grub and dropped it 42 feet to the bottom of the reef.
