Better fishing today than what we've had the past week. The Sea Bass would have made a lot of customers happy today but NOAA says we can't keep them....Highlight of the day was Dave Bardallis landing his Pool Winning beauty fluke at Eight Pounds Nine Ounces!
We ran offshore today and anchored up along the edge of the mud hole. Mackerel fishing was good all day long and we also had bonito and albies in the mix. For the anglers who bottom fished, they were able to stay busy with jumbo sea bass!
Had to go into overtime today as we never had a drift until late afternoon. Slugged away on some Sea Bass and a few shorts with the jigging but it was tough to start. A breeze and the change of tide got us moving and finally got the fish active.
8-2-17 Started off very nice, fish were coming and it looked really promising but it died and we just picked some keeper fluke here and there. Nothing like yesterday for us,still some limited out with nice fluke and some sea bass but overall I though it was slow for most onboard.
