Fishing has been slow, I don't lie or sugarcoat a report, we have had plenty of action with short fish and sea robins, which the larger size ones are very good eating, but today was a nice showing of keeper fluke!
What a week, between the actual rain and the forecasts, anglers were in short supply. Thursday was a special Porgy and Sea Bass trip and other than the light crowd it was a success. Everyone went home with a good amount of porgies and some sea bass and trigger fish as well for some.
Had to bounce around looking for life and eventually found some nice keepers to wanted to eat. End the trip with 13 keepers to 7.5 pounds. We have some availability for charter or open boat fluke trips this coming Thursday, Friday and Sunday, August 1, 2, and 4.
Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the afternoon trip the wind picked up enough to give us good drifting conditions in Sandy Hook Bay. We picked on every drift with good action with the shorts and some keepers.
