Posted on April 22, 2021 Saturday looking good Today s west winds may set up good fishing conditions in NY NJ Bight for Saturday before it goes the other way on Sunday. Striper fishing in Raritan Bay has good, though party boats have been having a tough time getting them to hit on jigs and bait.

Andreas Toy from Keyport reported good action with large stripers on live bunkers morning after that method wasn t good yesterday morning. The Ocean Explorer from Belmar reported Tuesday s bottom fishing on a nice ocean wasn t very good though the high hook managed a couple of keeper blackfish along with a dozen shorts.
Had longtime regular Elia Shehady back with dad Al and buddies Steve and Chuck. Steve started us off with a 32 incher right off the bat, after that it was a death pick getting 2 more keepers and a bunch of shorts.
The Golden Eagle couldn t find any stripers today, but bottom fishing for blackfish, ling and cod was good before it got nasty on the ocean. Capt. Ron Santee started out this morning with decent striper action on bait until the current ran stronger into the wind.
Action Picking Up Monday, April 19, 2021 With some nice weather and slow warming water the fishing action is slowly picking up. The action can only get better with the warming water and nice weather.
