Thursday Fishing Report May 23, 2019 Nice day until afternoon, the south winds started howling and it got a bit lumpy Had to work at keepers today, bounced around and caught fish both sea bass and ling. Chris had his limit of sea bass and a few ling, others scratched together a catch as well .
Captain Gary Dugan of the Irish Jig says he is switching gears from stripers and drum fish to fluke and the great wreck fishing going on for black sea bass. He has heard of some good catches of big bass trolling off Island Beach State Park, but no word yet on snag and drop fishing with live bunker.
Boat limits for all on most trips on Seabass up to 5 pounds, some Ling up to 5 lbs and a Cod and Pollock here and there depending on depth. SIZE is impressive some days also with many Seabass hitting the 3 pound mark
