Sunday Fishing Report June 9, 2019 Not so nice out there today Northeast and dumpy,fishing was tough given the condtions. . just picked some fish here and there Tomorrow looks not so good either bit as will look at it in the morning.
Tank Matraxia and his Lyndhurst crew did well jigging sea bass last week on Tagged Fish from Highlands, but they were surprised to find an empty hook rigged above the jig and found that over half of the sea bass hit that empty hook. Most of the bass are small, but it s a good way to catch stripers for those who aren t proficient with lures and keepers aren t unusual.
The Miss Belmar Princess is sailing daily for blues, stripers and sea bass from 7 30 a. m. 2 30 p. m. and every afternoon for fluke sea bass from 4 30 p. m. 8 30 p. m. The Miss Belmar Princess is the largest, fastest and cleanest fishing boat in Belmar.
Posted on June 8, 2019 Manhattan Cup was a winner Not everyone caught blues or stripers, but all involved had a great time fishing in today s Manhattan Cup held out of Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City. Jim Hutchinson of the Fisherman magazine boated one of about 39 pounds, but his stepbrother, Clark Harris, took the Manhattan Cup trophy with a 43-pounder.
Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing June 8 08 June 2019 Capt. Tom Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we picked at the shorts on each drift but again on had a few keepers.
