Capt. Rob Semkewyc had a good crowd and and they all limited on keeper bass even though the slot fish were hard to come by among all the 10-to-16-pounders. Unfortunately, the Sea Hunter will not sail Wednesday due to a forecast of strong northwest winds.
Anchoring conditions were tough and we had to reset of few times but it was a nice day on the water and everyone had fish. Tomorrow they are calling for some wind so we are going to wait and go Thursday which is going to be a nice day so now is the time to come.
Usually I'm looking for bigger fish but the pat few days after the second drift I am looking for the smaller ones but today I couldn't find a nice school of them like I did yesterday. There were a few guys who kept count and they were between 12 and19 and high hook was in the low 20s These are all big fish, so thats a great day.
Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 18 18 December 2017 Capt. Tom Made our 3 4 day trip for blackfish again today. The bite was not as good as the past few days but we caught some blackfish on all of them.
The other great thing is no other boats to screw things up I'm out there all alone. I made one drift in that area and we caught our bonus fish we needed then I went back to the big ones to play catch and release for the rest of the day.
The Gambler from Point Pleasant didn't get out today for stripers, but will be shaping up until Friday and Saturday when they'll be on offshore sea bass wreck trips. They have room on those sea bass trips.
