While fishing for blackfish in Point Pleasant Canal this morning, I heard a lot of shouting to the north and saw a big splash as an angler hauled a large fish out of the water. At Belmar, the Ocean Explorer had another great day of porgy fishing, but will not be sailing again until at least Thursday.
September 17th, 2017 Stripers Blues Charters Today, we fished out east again. With Miss Belmar s 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
Capt. Tommy Joseph reported another great day of porgy fishing on his Rightaway from Belmar along with triggerfish and blackfish -- while lots of 2-to-3-pound sea bass were released. Very good fishing for all with everyone keeping their one nice tog and playing catch and release with lots of other quality fish for another day.
Sailing daily from 7 30 a. m. 2 30 p. m. for stripers and blues. With Miss Belmar s 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
We fished north of our inlet today. We read plenty of fish, excellent at times, but we just picked away. We read the blues better than we caught them but it was still a fun day! They ranged anywhere from 2-4 lbs and ava 27's worked best.
