    There were only five keepers up to a 23 1 2-incher for the day plus a sea bass and a ling -- along with short sea bass and very few short fluke as Matraxia only put ALS tags in three. D'Anton then tried the Spring Lake surf, but did nothing with stripers before switching to Gulp for seven short fluke up to 17 inches.

Toward the DEP's goal of ensuring a sustainable summer flounder fishery, the DEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife launched a campaign to educate the fishing public on how to reduce discard mortality by safely releasing summer flounder that do not meet minimum size requirements.

    Overall pretty slow pickings on quality size Yellowfins where we fished on Monday. We had 14 total Yellowfins but only 3 keeper size ones so at least everyone on board did take home some nice tuna for the table.
