Sunday Fishing Report March 24, 2019 Very nice day out there today,and we had pretty decent life on the bottom The sharks were out in full force,which means the water is warming up Had a handful of nice Codfish today along with some shorts,a few ling,eels etc So not a bad day,alot better than the last trip Things are looking up and so is the water Hit 42 degrees today. No fishing on Monday,we are getting boat ready for Coast Guard inspection on Tuesday.
The Hudson River Fisherman s Association will be running a Striper Derby from 6 a. m. on Saturday April 27 through 12 p. m. April 27. Another unique aspect of this derby is that short bass can be entered since all that s needed is a quick photo next to the ruler and a number to be supplied with the entry.
Wind and more wind next few days It does look like Sunday is going to be very nice so we will head offshore on Sunday to do some codfishing . I will update but Sunday is the next nice day to head offshore .
What are the odds of two such trophy fish being enterted in a club fishing contest Munez also won for a 23-pound, 2-ounce cod. A couple of small stripers were jigged in the river, but the southeast wind killed the fishing.
