Nice weather and decent fishing by Capt Ted White 22 October 2017 our last canyon trip was a pretty good one, Tom Hook's crew had a nice assortment. Did a little more pot hopping and caught a dozen or so more before heading home, the weather for the entire trip was great.
Atlantic Highlands porgy fishing October 21 21 October 2017 Capt. Tom Made both morning and afternoon trips today and it was another good day. Starting Monday October 22 will be 3 4 day fishing everyday for seabass, porgies and blackfish.

The Fishermen from Atlantic Highlands had lots of jumbo porgies plus small tog, a couple of flounder, and even a fluke. Dave Brink, Middletown, NJ, took the pool with his largest of 21 legal sized blackfish he caught today.
We started out the day looking for fish to jig as using the bait has not been working out this week, and the conditions weren't right. We saw plenty of birds and fish jumping in various areas, but unfortunately they were all Albacore.
The action this week was still very good with Porgies, with many customers catching 30-50 fish per person and a few patrons got their one keeper Blackfish. We expect nice weather for the week so come on down.
It sure looks good a mile off the beach with schools of adult bunkers showing in many areas, but I'm not getting any reports of big bass in them. The daily bag limit for black sea bass is 15 fish, and limit catches are a distinct possibility.
