We had a great day of Ling fishing today!Brian Nickerson from Philadelphia had 48 Ling, Mark Danko and Frank Morton combined for 82 Ling, Jake Coniglio from Brick, NJ had 44 Ling, No bait Bernie from East Orange, NJ had 47 Ling, Mustafa Clark from East Orange had 60 Ling and 2 Flounder, Striper Jim had over 50 Ling and had 2 Flounder.
This trip was with two friends from down in Florida that wanted to come up and fight some tuna and their wishes were granted big time today. Just a great few trips the last few days on tuna both inshore and in the canyons on the Hooked Up II.
There were fish on top along with readings along the bottom. Sailing daily for blues and stripers from 7 30 a. m. 2 30 p. m. and every afternoon for fluke and sea bass from 4 30 p. m. 8 30 p. m. Join us as we bottom fish and mammal watch and then catch the most stunning sunset on the ride home.
As was noted in last Friday's column, blackfish anglers should take in tonight's public hearing on Draft Amendment 1 to the ASMFC Tautog Fishery Management Plan which starts at 6 30 p. m. in Room 119 of the Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
