11 01 16 It was a beautiful day on the water for the group of guys who came to fish today. A lot of the seabass went back today with not as good of a keeper ratio as we have been finding lately but the guys weeded through them and managed to put some nice fish in the coolers by day's end along with some porgies.
Tommy Cox made the ride worthwhile by catching two 15-pound bass in a row on a popper in Lavallette around first light, but that was it as there was no bait in that area. I joined John Green in his beach buggy, and we checked the beaches down to Seaside without seeing a thing caught after he had many shots on CJ wood poppers to big bass the previous two days.
We had a great day on big stripers today and it was a big turn around from yesterday. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
Atlantic Highlands bottom fishing October 31 31 October 2016 Capt. Tom It was a bit windy this morning but we made our 3 4 day trip for seabass, porgies and blackfish. There was also a lot of small seabass with some keepers mixed in along with a few blackfish.
We caught some sea bass again today,a little tough with the wave action early on but some nice quality fish came up again, along with some porgies and some really big ling. Good news is tomorrow and next few days look really nice and we area heading back offshore after the big sea bass.
