Didn't sail Monday Morning due to the weather but Capt. Dan managed to take out the Monday Night faithful for Striped Bass on the 6 30 pm trip. Several nice fish were caught on fresh bunkers. Weather today (Tuesday) was Crap, once again. We did manage some keeper Fluke. Everyone went home with dinner but it is certainly not easy fishing right now.
After bringing in the first mako shark and school bluefin tuna from the canyons earlier in the week, the Canyon Runner from Point Pleasant ran a Saturday to Sunday overnighter that produced the first yellowfin tuna (about 35 pounds) and two dolphin from canyons in over 1000 fathoms off Delaware for David Stratoff and his son. Honors for the first N. J. bigeye tuna fell to a boat in the Canyon Runner reporting team as the Flying Fish landed one in Cape May on the way back from North Carolina.
Hey everyone Sunday we had a good crowd onboard. We caught some nice keepers & had some short action but just not enough. Yesterday we had a charter and went bluefishing. We caught them pretty good for awhile on the flood tide but once it changed it was over.Today (Tuesday) we had some of our regs and some from the Sea Horse and picked at shorts with a keeper Fluke here and there.
