Saturday Fishing Report June 22, 2019 We had some pretty windy conditions today but the wind was out of the West and the ocean was flat calm and nice. Fluke fishing was decent today,we had plenty of shorts and the guys jigging were into the nicer fish.
The Golden Eagle from Belmar had a very good sea bass catch today, but will be looking for ling and anything other than sea bass on Sunday if bluefish don t show again. The weather looks perfect for that trip, and the last one earlier this month produced quite a few large tilefish.
The Miss Belmar Princess is sailing daily for blues, stripers and sea bass from 7 30 a. m. 2 30 p. m. and every afternoon for fluke sea bass from 4 30 p. m. 8 30 p. m. The Miss Belmar Princess is the largest, fastest and cleanest fishing boat in Belmar.
Saturday is the last day for N. J. sea bass fishing. Grumpy s Tackle in Seaside Park reports surf fishing has been slow the last few days, but they re hoping for a return of the black drum that created so much excitement last Friday.
