Capt. Ron Sr. started the day off with the first fish in the boat and a beauty at 6 pounds! A nice SE breeze came up so we changed locations and had much better fishing the rest of the day.
We caught some shorts everywhere but not many keepers. Just before we had to go home we started to drift and we picked shorts with some keepers. On the afternoon trip we had a cool breeze that gave a nice drift. We had plenty of action all afternoon with shorts and some keepers mixed in.
It was a little toasty in the morning but the wind picked up around noon and made it very nice. The wind was against the tide of course. A couple guys did manage the limit while other caught only shorts.
We are catching fish in Sandy Hook and Raritan Bays. The better the drifting conditions the more action we have. Most of fish are shorts but there are some keepers mixed in
