The bite you really couldn't feel very well due to the fact that 25- to 30-knot wind was whipping through your line, and the fact that the 4- to 6-foot chop with 3-second intervals was beating the boat around like a washing machine, and also with only a handful of fishermen, it was the best trip of the fall blackfish season. The weather was perfect, anchoring conditions were good, the small fish were there, but only a handful of keepers.
It appears there were very few waterproof anglers around this morning, but Miss Belmar Princess got into a good early bite of stripers and blues that resulted in 30 fish aboard by lunch time. Jerry Lasko of Point Pleasant released a few 18-to-20-inch stripers on the black Mambo Minnow in the dark this morning at Bay Head.
12-5-16 That was nice today, rain early but was gone by the time we left. Fishing was better to,had some quality fish start chewing as soon as we started this morning and most caught fish today, nice day out.
The Miss Belmar Princess is the largest, fastest and cleanest fishing boat in Belmar. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
