Had life all morning till the change of tide, fish rolling and moving fast with many boats in Hot pursuit. Stopped with fish all around the boat and catch just a couple as they moved off fast, move same thing.
The Hi-Mar Striper Club's Fall 40-hour Bob Kamienski Striped Bass Tournament ended up with good weather last weekend after being postponed the previous weekend due to gale warnings. The striper tournament season concludes this weekend with the Staten Island Tuna Club's Big Bass Shootout from Saturday night through Sunday.
It was slow with the stripers but excellent jigging for jumbo blues that moved in from offshore. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it.
Had David with buddy Bert out today, started out jigging smaller bass, found a nice body of mid twenty pound fish and got their Limit then went into release mode. Ended up with fish up to 25lbs in beautiful conditions.
We had good porgy fishing with everyone catching porgies but only a couple of seabass and blackfish. We are bottom fishing everyday for seabass, porgies and blackfish leaving at 7 30 am and returning between 2 30 and 3pm.
