In the ocean big striped bass were trolled up while black sea bass were biting on the inshore wrecks and reefs. Meanwhile in the bay waters good catches of summer flounder and bluefish were happening.
A few people showed up for the morning trip so we went fluke fishing The action was not as good as it has been but we did pick at some shorts and keepers.
John Fishing in the Bow along with Jeff lead the way with 5 nice fish followed by Jeff with his three and another young man fishing in the bow with 3. Iris who had the pool last week with a beauty took it again today on the last drift with another 5 pound plus fish!
There were readings paved on the bottom with fish on top and birds working on them. We stayed on our first drift for over 45 minutes and had double headers at times with plenty of readings and plenty of fish!
Everything was caught jigging with plain 27s working the best.
We could not get away from the sand sharks today. We did catch our first two blues this year but no Stripers.
We are off to a good start with Fluke this season with some nice fish coming over the rail as well as the short action. This is the time of year where more fish are coming in everyday.
