Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 16 16 August 2016 Capt. Tom I can only guess the weatherman kept most of the people away again today but we made both morning and afternoon trips. On the morning trip we had good drifting conditions and we were able to fish the deep of Ambrose channel.
Tom Hollywood, Jr., Staten Island, NY, outfished his dad today with more keepers but it was Tom Sr., who tied for the pool with his good friend Mike. An overall GOOD day of catching and keepers while the bite lasted!
Today we ran a open boat extended Fluke trip and the fishing was very good from the first drift till the last drift. The Fluke were chewing, we had several fish on a time most of the day with keepers and shorts coming over the rails.
Adam La Rosa reports his Canyon Runner fleet got back into bigeye tuna Monday night with multiple catches being the norm. Unfortunately that was after the White Marlin Open when Canyon Runner couldn't find a big money bigeye, but went one of two releases on blue marlin hits, and five of 10 on white marlin.
