The proud angler today was none other than Danielle O'Brien, South Bound Brook, who just set the EB II mark for women flukers of 13 POUNDS 1 OUNCE a couple of weeks ago. Today's fish was 10 POUNDS 2 OUNCES and was her second of the year, and also her second ever!
Catching even a single doormat fluke in a lifetime is an accomplishment for most fluke anglers, but Danielle O'Brien of South Bound Brook is well on her way to becoming among the best female flukers in history as she boated her second of the season today on Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands. Other large river fluke were a 4 3 16-pounder by Charles Wardell, and a 4 5 16-pounder for Charlie Lemaire.
Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 9 09 July 2016 Capt. Tom It wasn't the nicest day for July but we made both morning and afternoon trips again today. We are fluke fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12 30 and 1 30 to 6pm).
The wind was stronger, and gave us a faster drift, we did have keeper fluke come over the rail, tomorrow is looking like a better day. The fluke are still out there, we get them tomorrow, see you in the morning.
